we turned what was once the home of an old hot tub into a 120 square foot pottery studio with 220 power for the kiln, fun lighting, sweet french doors, and a floating 8’x10’ deck.

  • The Site

It all begin with a passion for pottery. The owner of this property never used his hot tub, and desired a cool space for his hobby. He also wanted the space to feel connected to the rest of the yard. We rerouted the existing hot tub power to a sub-panel to be used to power the kiln.

  • Details

The space itself was a simple 120 square foot building, but we added some fun extra details to take it to the next level including some sweet french doors, custom window and door trim, and these reclaimed redwood fence boards became the eaves.

  • inside/outside

Finally, we built an 8x10 foot floating deck off the front. This backyard gets tons of light all year round, and even though the space inside is not large, it feels much larger with the deck. Plenty of room for a few friends to get crafty and drink beer.
